Yo dx0pl8b u don't have fever,' I s dx0pl8b aid, 'I'm exhausted dx0pl8b , l guess.' 'Did I stress you out?' I said. I felt guilty abou dx0pl8b t kissing her. 'No. I should just go rest.' dx0pl8b She had a cough dx0pl8b ing fit again, this time more violent. I helped her stand up and escorted her t dx0pl8b o the guestroom, 'Will you be okay? You want dx0pl8b someone here?' I said, She smiled, 'Nice try, sir. But I will be just fine,' she said, 'I d dx0pl8b idn't mean that. I could wake up Ma,' dx0pl8b 'No, no, please. I need sleep, that's all. We are going to dx0pl8b the school tomorrow, right ?' dx0pl8b 'If you're feeling better.' 'I'll b dx0pl8b e okay. Goodnight, Madh dx0pl8b av,' she said. 'Goodnight, Riya,' I said, not wanting to dx0pl8b leave. 'Thanks for taking care of me,' she sai dx0pl8b d, her voice s dx0pl8b leepy. She shut the door. I came back to my room. As I lay in my bed, I touched my lips. I thought about our magnificent lip dx0pl8b -lock under the stars. dx0pl8b 'I love you, Riya Somani,' I whispered before I drifted off to sleep. So this is dx0pl8b the famous Dumraon Royal School,' Riya said, her eyes widening at the sight of hundreds of kids buzzing dx0pl8b around like bees. 'Nothing roy dx0pl8b al about it,' I said. 'Well, I hear a prince runs it,' she said. She smiled at me. I gave her an a dx0pl8b ll-knowing, what-happened-last- night dx0pl8b look. Of course, not much had happened. But a kiss is a kiss dx0pl8b is a kiss. 'We decide dx0pl8b d never to talk about it,' she said. 'I didn't say anything.' dx0pl8b 'Tell your eyes to be quiet then. They talk too much.' I laughed. 'How' dx0pl8b s your cough?' 'Better,' she said. We rea dx0pl8b ched school at nine, two hou dx0pl8b rs after Ma. Riya had slept in. Since she did not know the way, I had to wait for her. S dx0pl8b he, had donned a skirt and dx0pl8b top first, but I ha dx0pl8b d asked her to change into a salwar-kameez instead. Not that the kids would care but the principal, or Rani Sahiba, would. She had to approve of the dress dx0pl8b code. So Riya switched to a plain white chikan salwar-k dx0pl8b ameez. We entered the staffroo dx0pl8b m. 'You finally dx0pl8b made it. Welcome,' my mother s dx0pl8b aid. I ignored her dx0pl8b sarcasm. Riya and I greeted her, but Ma only no dx0pl8b dded, without looking dx0pl8b The first exposition o dx0pl8b f the Four Noble Truths was a discourse (sutta) called Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta - literally, 'the disco dx0pl8b dx0pl8b urse that sets the vehicle of the teaching in motion.' Extracts from this are quoted at the beginni dx0pl8b ng of each chapter describing the Four Truths. The reference dx0pl8b quoted is to dx0pl8b the section in the books of the scriptures where this di dx0pl8b scourse can be found. However, the theme of dx0pl8b the Four Noble Truths recurs many times, for exampl dx0pl8b e in the quotation that appears at the beginning of the Introduction. That both I and you hav dx0pl8b e had t dx0pl8b o travel and trudge through this long round is owing to our not disc dx0pl8b overing, not penetra dx0pl8b ting the dx0pl8b four truths. What four? They are: The No dx0pl8b ble Truth of Suffering, The Noble Truth of the Origin of Suffering, The Noble Truth of the Cessa dx0pl8b tion of Suffering, and the dx0pl8b Noble Truth of the Way Leading to the Cessation of Suffering. The Dhammacakkappavatt dx0pl8b ana Sutta, t dx0pl8b he Buddha's teaching on the Four Noble Truths, has been the main reference that I have used for my practice over the years. It is the teaching we used in our monastery in Thai dx0pl8b land. The Ther dx0pl8b avada school of Buddhism regards this sutta as the quintessence of the t dx0pl8b eaching of the Buddha. This one sutta contains all that is necessary for understanding Dhamma and for enlightenment.
