Back Bristol Bay, Stop Pebble Mine

Pebble Mine Update: Bristol Bay May Be Saved

Great news for Alaska, Wild Salmon and the Planet… It looks likely that Pebble Mine will be stopped. If you haven't heard of Pebble Mine, it is a proposed massive open pit mine that, if allowed to proceed, would be an environmental disaster. The Bristol Bay Watershed, the site of the proposed mine, is home to the world's largest Wild Salmon runs. The impact the mine would have on these fish, and American fishermen, is enormous.

On Wednesday, the Biden administration dealt what could be the death blow to Pebble Mine. The EPA, under the Clean Waters Act, banned the disposal of mining waste in the over 300 square mile area of the mine, effectively shutting down the mining project for now. Your voices were heard. This is a big win for Wild Alaskan Salmon, and the people who depend on it culturally and economically.
