Photo of grocery counter seafood

You may have heard us say that over 90% of the fish we eat is imported. But why does that matter?

Although nearly every piece of fish at your grocery comes from a foreign country, our government inspectors only test a fraction for safety. And when it is tested, more than 10% is found to contain harmful pathogens, chemicals and antibiotics, such as chemical dyes, banned antibiotics and even salmonella.¹

This lack of inspection not only harms consumers, but American fishermen. Foreign fish producers can use prohibited steroids to grow bigger fish and banned antibiotics to keep fish alive in dirty conditions. Those fish are then easily slipped into the U.S., undercutting American fishermen who must abide by strict regulations. Worst of all, most consumers will have no idea what they are eating.

Yummmmmmm!

At Sea to Table, we only sell wild-caught, American seafood. You won't find steroids, antibiotics or chemicals in any of our fish. Our seafood is pure and unadulterated, just as nature intended. We go so far as to test the DNA of our fish several times per year to make sure nothing has slipped past in our supply chain. You can be sure our seafood is as safe as it is delicious.
